At KiScon 2015 there was a panel entitled "K/S at a certain age" that discussed the relationship between Kirk and Spock in the later movies. The consensus was that the relationship depicted is one of deep emotional intimacy, yet it is underappreciated relative to the more dramatic relationship events of earlier in the franchise.
Inspired by this discussion, I made this vid which uses the song "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks to show a middle-aged Kirk who has built his life around Spock and the Enterprise struggling with the changes in his life. The vid uses clips primarily from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), with additional footage from Star Trek: The Original Series (1966-1969), Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984)."
